Very informative, I'm impressed that someone took the time to explain it at all, usually Traditionalists are secretive (at least where I am). But I would like to tell you a quick story of myself and the Wiccan I've been dating since middle school.

She won't defend herself, yes she believes it will result in a bad 'backlash' but she will defend others often putting herself at risk. In high school someone found out about her family's longstanding religion and she became the target of more bullying then I care to think about. After numerous beatings (which usually resulted in my being carted away in cuffs) I told her that anytime she wanted to defend someone to tell me and I would do it instead. After while people began to call me her 'Demon Familiar' We thought this was funny, so now I wear a dog collar with the name Fenrir, in both English and in Runes, on tags. Sam doesn't like to hit back but she doesn't like to be helpless either. Also most people who wish harm can be infuriated and often give up with the passive response. Not my way but I struggle with the use of Witchcraft despite having a strong Spiritual ability.

Hi,
I am so greatful I found your page! I come from a long line of traditionals though it isnt much talked of. The truth is when I was younger and first was told what we are I was comforted by having a name. As I got more involved I started to forget how important it had been, and how instictual working magick had been. I became to focused on props (and while they are fun) they do not create the energy that personal passion does. Reading your page took me on a journey back to the days before I read a "how to" book. Your words inspired, reminded and awkened me. I am greatful.. so very greatful. I will read this a hundred more times until I have forgoten the books. Thank you!

Hi

A lovely wiccan friend of mine suggested I read your site after a long search for a bit more meaning and purpose in my life wehn i found that the varies paths I'd explored did not quite fit with me (or me with
them!) ...I still find it a bit hard to fit in and as a child I was always considered a bit 'strange' as I could predict weather, 'knew' too much, not to mention getting thrown out of sunday school for asking about the whereabouts of the Goddess...
so I'd just like to say thank you for laying it out so clearly!
